2010 MNET Asian Music Awards

JYP must be very happy at the recently concluded MAMA 2010. The new female group Miss A and this year's best male group, 2PM, bagged lots of awards. It's a good thing that 2NE1 is an amazing group winning lots of awards as well or else, I'd probably think MNET has no other groups to choose.

After Mnet's breach of contract which resulted to SM Entertainment's decision to stop doing business with them, the results of MAMA awards really seemed to be a little bit unacceptable in some categories where obviously an sment artist should have won.  Just like in the Best Male Group category. 2PM? You have got to be kidding me! Nothing against 2PM. I am a Nichkhun, Wooyoung and Junho fan. But it was so blatant that Super Junior deserved it more. Of course, they didn't get it possibly because they may not have passed most of the criteria. Which of course is the result of the "clash" between mnet and sment. This is really sad. I think mnet shouldn't even wonder why some people think that MAMA awards is "half real" because they don't really get to cover all k-pop groups/musicians. I was surprised to learn that BOA won the Best Female Singer Award (not shown on broadcast). BOA from sment! But then I saw the other nominees, Lee Hyori rocks but then BOA is BOA. Hurricane...Venus....

Did you guys wait for an sment artist to perform? Even if I knew it would be impossible, a part of me still hoped I get to see one of them on stage. But then it was like waiting for rain in a time of drought... useless and disappointing (Cinderella movie).

Now here are my reactions regarding the results:
DAESANG AWARD  (Grand Prize) 

Song of the year: Miss A - Bad Girl Good Girl = no comment
Album of the year: 2NE1 - To Anyone = I think they deserve the award. The album was awesome
Artist of the Year: 2NE1 = I would agree again but then I also think that SNSD has a fight for the title

SINGER CATEGORY

Best New Male Artist (not shown during broadcast):  CN Blue = who else should get it? Cmon! These guys are good!
Best New Female Artist: Miss A = deserving
Male Group Award: 2PM = Sorry. I have to say it should be Super Junior. Who does Super Shows in Asia?!
Female Group Award: 2NE1 = deserving
Male Singer Award: Taeyang = Go! Go! Go! BigBang!
Female Singer Award: BOA = deserving

GENRE CATEGORY
Best Dance Performance - Solo: Rain - "Love Song" = of course it was Rain. But Lee Hyori's "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" is also cool as well as Hyuna's "Change"
Best Dance Performance Male Group: 2PM - "I'll Be Back" = Now is this a joke or what? SHINee's Lucifer should have won this award! The guys from 2PM are great dancers but so are the guys from MBLAQ and BEAST. But for 2PM to win it for I'll Be Back is just... huwat???!!! For Suju's Bonamana, it was ok and the guys did nail it on the MV especially on the part when the "dance group" did the bridge part. (Was it the bridge?). Anyway, Eunhyuk killed it. He's a dancing machine.
Best Dance Performance Female Group: Miss A - "Bad Girl Good Girl" = too much stretching... 
Best Vocal Performance - Solo: Gummy - "Because You're A Man" = no comment
Best Vocal Performance -Group: 2AM - "Can't send You Even If I Die" = DESERVING!!! WOOT!
Best Band Performance: Hot Potato - "Confession" = I love CN Blue. Period.
Best Rap Performance: DJ DOC - "I'm This Kind of Person" = though I like Epik High, I think this year is for DJ DOC.
Best Collaboration (not shown during broadcast):  Ga-In/Jo Kwon – “We Fell In Love” - aww... the Adam couple
Best Digital Single: Park Bom – “You and I” = no comment

SHINee - LUCIFER (full MV)

Could hardly wait to finish my work the whole day. As I've mentioned on my previous post, the complete MV will be released today.

There are so many expectations from SHINee fans and other kpop fanatics but I, honestly, didn't expect anything in particular. I just missed the guys so much that I just badly want to see their comeback. Now, the wait is finally over. Minho is finally well, I assume. The full MV is out. The song is good and the choreography is awesome!

I screamed quietly after I finished watching this video. The wait is so worth it. Their new look is way different from before but still... mad love for these guys.

SHINee - LUCIFER MV Teaser

Shawols around the world are going crazy. And yes, I'm going crazy too. I've been gone for months and now I'm back 'coz SHINee's back!!!

Youtube has a long list of uploads of this video and the International SHINee forum has reached it's highest number of users ever online. The wait is finally over. The teaser is out and news said SM Entertainment will be releasing the complete MV tomorrow.

Well, just a few more patience 'coz  they will be releasing their new album on the 19th and their comeback performance will be on the 23rd on KBS Music Bank!!!

Finally! I'm so excited! Though I still have to get used to Key's shaved look. I miss his old hairstyle! Anyway, since I'm Key-biased, shaved or not... I love Key!  and Onew! and Jonghyun! and Taemin! and Minho! SHINee fighting!

U-Kiss Experience

I'm not a U-Kiss fan (oops! deja vu... I said the same thing about FT Island hahaha) But wait! I'm a fan of Arirang's Pops in Seoul - All About You. In short, I'm an Alexander, Kevin and Eli fan. That's basically the main reason I went to SM North Edsa with my sis. Aside from the fact that my sis badly wants to go and see U-Kiss because she's a BIG fan especially of Kevin. In my entire life, I rode the MRT to alight at the last station, which is north Edsa, only once. March 28th was the second time. I live in South, so I'm sure you can imagine how far that is. The show had proven me one thing and that is not that I am a kpop addict but rather it showed and proved me how much I love my sister.

 Everything changed after the first song. The show was worth the money and worth the time. They're a new scenery on my clouded Korean boyband sight. But the first thing that really caught my attention during the concert was the fans! They're crazy! In a good way. I was left speechless.

Happy Birthday Lee Hong Ki - 03/02/10

Happy Birthday to the adorable and talented vocalist of FT Island!!! I am a fan of his character in the Korean drama You're Beautiful. He potrayed the role so great that it makes his character so striking. It's not that I'm not a fan of his singing talent. He has a good voice. It's just that I'm not an FT Island fan... For now. But it's true, I have a magnetic white board placed beside my computer monitor at work which actually has a huge reminder that says 2 days to go before FT Island concert!!! You guys have no idea how excited I am (but my teammates at work do). My sister is actually the FT Island fan but it seems like I'm more excited than her. maybe because I'm the one who bought the tickets hahaha

SUJU is coming to Manila!!!

I know I was gone for almost 2 months, I prepared my speech for that. But...!! Here's what's more important than that... SUPER JUNIOR is coming to Manila!!!

Wait! Hold your horses! I saw the ticket prices and I'm having second thoughts if I would watch. Crazy huh? As if i never planned to go to Taiwan, Malaysia or Thailand just to be able to watch their concert. It's actually going to cost me less if i watch it here but... *sigh* my heart belongs to someone else already or should I say, to another group. I'm still a SUJU fan but not the way I used to be before (nyak!!). It's like they're my ex and I have a new bf ;p I am so into Shinee now. But I won't talk about them on this post.

So the most expensive ticket costs Php8,500.00 and the cheapest ticket costs Php3,950.00. I was waiting for the impulsive thing in me but it never came. But I'd really like to watch. I'd probably take the Php3,950.00 wahahaha I want the front seats but the urge just wasn't there. But then I wouldn't really know, sometimes I change my mind the last minute. If that happens, I might gamble the Php8,500.00 or not buy at all hahaha

Still can't get enough of Shinee

Spare me for not posting my usual daily thoughts about life, people and my experiences. Kpop has grown on me. Seriously.

I've introduced who's who on Suju videos before. Since I've been asked by some friends who is Onew or Key in the video, I'll tell you the name of the Shinee member singing the part with the time given. This is a live performance. I love the original MV but I can't post it again. Just look back at the video which I posted last Nov. 12 if you prefer the MV. They're singing the same lines anyway :D Doesn't change a thing, Key and Onew still looked good to me hahaha (I am seriously biased).



1. Jonghyun (04/08/90)singing at 0:17 = main voalist in the group
2. Key (09/23/91) singing at 0:48 = vocalist and one of the rappers in the group. He was a gifted varsity water-skier at Dae Gu Young Shin Middle School (yes I have to include this ;p I love his eyes and he's a good dancer too!)
3. Onew (12/14/89) singing at 0:55 = leader and oldest member in the group (one of my faves :D)
4. Taemin (07/18/93) = youngest member and main dancer in the group.
5. Minho (12/09/91) = the other rapper in the group and he's the guy at SNSD's GEE music video.


Here's another video. My other fave aside from Ring Ding Dong. This one is entitled A.MI.GO which is a shortened Korean phrase, Areumdaun MInyeoruel joahamyeon GOsaenghanda, which means, "if you like a beautiful girl, you'll suffer" (Key looks so cute in pink and the eyes.. again!)

Shinee is coming to Manila!

You lucky Shinee fans! (that would "quite" include me hihihi)

Since last month, there had been talks about the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Korea-Philippines ties. Kpop fans have requested through petitions, surveys, blogs, etc. to bring their favorite kpop artists to Manila.

Congratulations kpop lovers, you have made it possible. The boyband Shinee, jazz band Winterplay and energetic rap duo Mighty Mouth are going to perform on November 27, 3 .PM. at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Sadly, no Suju guys.

SJ's Leeteuk and Yesung performed with Shinee

Yesung performed with Shinee last Nov. 06 at KBS Music bank to fill in Jonghyun's absence (he was diagnosed with H1N1). Ok so, there had been different reactions. Some peple were satisfied, some weren't. Yesung's voice is very different from Jonghyun but he delivered it in his own style. So kudos to Yesung. Not that I'm a biased Suju fan. The disappearances may have annoyed some but I think it looked good that Shinee had their "solo" performance as a group. C'mon, let's all just unite for the love of kpop. Okies?

Today, Shinee performed Ring Ding Dong at Popular Song with Jonghyun (but he still looks kinda weak though) but Onew is missing this time. Onew was also diagnosed with swine flu. So, they performed with Leeteuk (of Super Junior) covering for Onew. Leader covering for another leader :D

music news 11/07/09

The tickets for Katy Perry Rocks for Relief is now available at Ticketworld. Concert will be on Nov. 14, 2009 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds 8:00 P.M. All sections are standing only. First come, first served.

I've seen the commercial on TV but the only guests mentioned were Arnel Pineda and Neal Schon of Journey. News articles said Jabbawockeez are part of the concert but it wasn't mentioned on TV. They just said "surprise guests". Maybe they mentioned it, maybe they didn't. I've only seen it on TV once. I maybe wrong. Anyway, help the victims of Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) and watch the concert.

Super Junior - Sorry Sorry (3rd Album)

Two weeks ago when I was on my way to NSG at Greenbelt 3, a huge poster of Super Junior plastered on the outer side wall of Music One caught my attention. SUPER JUNIOR - The third album - SORRY SORRY. I was like.. "whoa!". I was so caught up that I literally stood there looking at the poster. Funny thing about it is that, I always stop to look at the poster everytime I pass by!

So I checked it on the net and oh my gosh... their music and their looks have gotten w-o-w! It's already wow before but it's wow-er now hahaha Though I can't t understand the language, I like the beat of their music. Very pop-ish. The kind of music you can dance to even if you don't understand the lyrics.

I'm so glad their looks have changed. They look so feminine in their first two albums! Not that it matters to me. But I seriously love how they look now! So far, only two videos have been released (that's what I'm aware of) but they got more than a million views already for each video! Indeed, the biggest boy band in the world is finally back!

Lee Teuk - his talent, looks and dimples are still a killer. He truly deserves to be the leader :) After 170 stitches due to their April 19, 2007 car accident, so glad he made it.

Kyuhyun - I was smitten since the day he sang "A whole new world" with Charisse Pempengco at Star King. Man, you got the voice. But then I wouldn't have been able to see him if he didn't survive the 2007 car accident with Lee Teuk. He was discharged from the hospital 2 months after because they said he was slipping in and out of consciousness. So glad he made it too.

Yesung - it's the voice and the "angas-look". Loved his performance in their video It's You (0:44 - 0:51 and 2:28 - 2:35. Belting at 3:15 - 3:21 = to sheena who's also a Yesung fan). He looks like Lee Jun Ki in the Korean drama My Girl hehehe

Eun Hyuk - I'd say, still the best dancer in Suju :D

Donghae - so cute.

Heechul - he is so beautiful! Seriously! He looks so girlish when he wears his hair long but now that his hair is short... way better. I've also watched their episode in Intimate Note and he is so funny!!

Sungmin - aside from the singing and dancing, you should see his ninja talent when he appeared on Star Golden Bell together with Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and Yesung.

Hangeng, Kang-in, Kibum, Ryeowook, Siwon, and Shindong (main choreographer for their video U), i like all of them! hahaha
