It Must Be The Color Blue

I am a self-confessed Blue Eagles fan. Kahit mga kaibigan ko from La Salle alam yun. Minsan nga puro green archers ang kasama ko at tinitira nila ang blue eagles pero wa ako paki. It's not a fact I would repudiate in any situation. Marami nang nagtanong sa akin bakit gustung-gusto ko ang team na yun eh hindi naman ako dun nag-aral. Syempre mahal ko si oble pero ang ganda kasi talaga ng kulay. Ang cool ng color blue (in fairness sa Adamson ang cute din ng color nila)! I'm sure hindi kayo convinced. O sige, gusto ko talaga yung team nila especially their 1st five last season. That would be Tenorio, Fonacier, Gonzales, Alvarez and Bugia. No offense to Enrico Villanueva fans. Magaling siya pero hindi ko siya favorite.

When I watched ADMU's game against DLSU last weekend, I felt my team would severely lose. Malaki talaga ang kawalan nina Rich and Wesley. Not that wala akong tiwala kay LA, Larry and Paolo to bring the team pero syempre Alvarez and Gonzales can score between 10-15 points per game! But as the blue fans would always say, "we believe". Kaya nga kahit naglalaro na lang between 8-15 points and difference ng score, with the archers ruling the game, a 2 point shot by a blue jersey is a big thing. Support na lang kumbaga.

This may sound funny and ridiculous for a lot people but I did pray while watching the game. Sabi ko kay Lord, ok lang if the eagles lose the game basta huwag namang 15 points yung difference! Then I realized, hihiling lang ako kay Lord hindi ko pa sagarin. So sabi ko, "Lord, please…. Let the blue eagles win" pero nahahalata kong walang nangyayari. It then dawned on me na walang nangyayari even though I was praying kasi siguro unconsciously may iba pa kong rason why I want my team to win. And I felt ang evil talaga nun. Kaya sabi ko, "Lord, sorry bad girl ako. sige, ok lang kahit hindi manalo team ko… basta wag na lang po talaga malaki yung lamang ng archers….. pero…. Lord please let the eagles win!!! Please…please!!! You never failed me last season!!! I'm sure you won't fail me this time" (sobra noh? Malala na pala ako)

An archer once told me that there was a record that for the 2 games that these schools meet in the elimination every season, laging 1/1 ang record. Pero last year, Ateneo broke it. They won both games against La Salle during the elimination. Yehey!!! Then I just learned recently that La Salle has a 16-year unbeaten record every first game of every season, which shattered yesterday afternoon after Ateneo swoop past them to win the battle. Yebah!

I think masyadong naging complacent ang players ng La Salle. In fairness to the green team, ang galing talaga ng players nila. Yeo is like a machine. Have you seen his moves? Ang galing talaga! And his untiring 3pt shots! Applause to Casio. Deserving talaga for the Rookie of the Year last season. I don't see anybody else who deserved that title.

Pero syempre, the Eagles flew high!!!! Yehey!!! Awa na nga ako kay Fonacier. Halos hindi na siya paupuin! Buti na lang nag-work yung ibang players. Larry must be very tired (as if close kami). My sister asked me why I like the guy eh hindi naman siya guwapo. You see, it doesn't matter kahit hindi siya gwapo kasi ang galing niya!!!! Though I know marami namang magaling. Pwede rin namang si Yeo ang maging crush ko kasi he's good. However, I like Fonacier because he manages to keep a low profile even though he plays really good, can shoot 3's and is one of UAAP's best free-throw shooters. Wohoo!!!! And syempre he wears the blue jersey!!!!

But sometimes I can't help but think, I don't really care much if ADMU wins or not if they play with other schools other than DLSU. Hmm… that's weird. And if DLSU plays with NU, I'd go for NU. Uh-oh… I'm starting to have a conclusion. Blue blood is running in my veins…. No! GO UP!!!!!

Anyway, I'm so happy ADMU!!! Ang saya-saya!!!! One Big Fight! Ateneo Fight!!!
