UST vs. NU
Froilan Baguion and Ronnie Cajayon are not with NU anymore to head the Bulldogs in this year's basketball games. UST on the other end lost most of their experienced players including Alwyn Espiritu, Dereck Hubalde and Edsel del Rosario. NU led the game with as much as 18points. However, UST was able to trim down the difference as Christian Luanzon pulled his team to win the game by scoring 20 points.

ADMU vs. DLSU
As expected, Archers and Eagles fanatics packed Araneta Coliseum to watch the first match of the arch rivals this season. The cagers from Taft made as much as 15-point lead from 2nd quarter until the fourth only to get disappointed during the last five minutes of the last quarter. Bajjie del Rosario nailed a 3-pt shot to help the Eagles move closer and cut the score difference. Ateneo won by three points against DLSU 75-72, with the spitfire LA Tenorio's good assists and the silent assassin Larry Fonacier's 20 points, 8 rebounds and 12/12 FTs. Ateneo wrecked La Salle's 16-year record of winning their first game every season.
